Product Overview

Proheat offers a large variety of thermocouple components and assemblies for use in virtually all high temperature heavy industrial process applications. These components and assemblies are found in heat treating, forging, smelting,metal melting, utility and waste boilers, incineration, cogeneration, and many other severe use processes.

Element Options

​Bare or ceramic insulated, wire gauge sizes from 30 to 8 gauge, straight or angle, single or duplex, standard or special limits of error materials, twist welded hot junctions, insulated hot junctions.

​Thermocouple Protection Tubes

Metal Alloys:
Carbon Steel, Inconel 600 and 601, 304, 316, 446 Stainless Steel, HR-160, Cast Iron

Ceramic and Composite Materials:
Mullite, Alumina, Silicon Carbide, Vesuvius, Cerite®, Metal Ceramic

Protection Tube Options :
Open or closed ends, pipe sizes from 1/4" to 1" NPT with schedule 40, 80 or 160 wall, 3/8" to 1(1/4)" OD ceramic tubes, welded mounting bushings, mounting flanges, nipple and sleeve mountings, hex mounting fittings, temperature check-port fittings.

MgO Insulated Thermocouple Assemblies
Proheat offers a wide variety of Magnesium Oxide insulated thermocouples, commonly referred to as MgO thermocouples. They are used in numerous process and laboratory applications. Their many desirable characteristics make them a good choice for general and special purpose use. They are available in most thermocouple element types, numerous sheath diameters and materials. Their ruggedness and moderately high temperature characteristics make these thermocouples a popular choice for a host of temperature measuring applications.

Base Metal Types: ​J, K, T, E, N
Noble Metal Types: R, S, B

Elements Options

Standard and special limits of error, grounded, ungrounded or exposed junctions, single and multiple element construction, standard and high purity MgO insulation.

MgO Thermocouple Sheaths

Sheath Materials:
304, 310, 316, 446 Stainless Steel, Inconel 600, Nicrobell, H-2300.

Sheath Diameters:
.032, .040, 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", OD's and other fractional or metric sizes.

Sheath Options :
Compression fittings, welded bushings, flanges, bayonet fittings and weld pad mountings,sheath bends and Teflon® coating.

Complete MgO Thermocouple Assemblies Sheath Termination

​Thermocouple Plugs and Jacks, Standard and Mini.

Assembly Options

​Standard or miniature size plugs and jacks, choice of 8 connecting head materials, high temperature transition fittings, in-line same size transitions, leadwire with several choices of insulation, stranded or solid conductors, and leads with stainless steel overbraid or flexible armor.
