All applications that require heat must be controlled. There are two primary factors to look at when choosing your temperature controller and/or sensor.

How precise do you need the controller or sensor to be?: Some applications can handle a bigger range of precision (e.g. freeze protection) and some applications must be as precise as + or - 1F (.55C) (e.g. CVD).

Where will the controller or sensor be located?: You will need to make sure that your controller or sensor can handle the outdoor or hazardous-area conditions if that is where it will be functioning.
